A Year Ago..

This is me almost a year ago today - swimming in open water at Hatchmere, on Easter Sunday. That's the size 22 me, with a big smile on my face.

To be fair, the smile's frequently there, I'm generally a happy bunny anyway, but I'm especially happy when I'm swimming outdoors.

I haven't done any so far this year though - an indication of how much colder the weather has been this year, and the fact that my wetsuit no longer fits me, and I haven't got round to ordering a smaller one yet. Must do that and get back out there... c'mon summer!

Pandamonium

Just watching the program that was on last week about pandas (my favourite animal) and thought I'd share this old photo with you too!

This is in Chengdu panda sanctuary in China, back in 2002. The moral here is not to wear a white T shirt when having your photo taken with a panda - they're not really black and white at all, but a dirty creamy-grey. This panda loves apples, and was kept happy with this apple while I stroked him behind the ears.

It's just a shame my backpack wasn't bigger, or the two pandas in Edinburgh wouldn't be the only ones in the UK!

I've just borrowed David's phone to download the picture of me from last night's caberet event and found this!

According to the date stamp, this is August 2010. To be honest, I didn't recognise me! Can't believe the size of my chest - it's no wonder I always got food down the front of my clothes!

I was looking for a picture of Christmas things to illustrate my last blog post, and found this picture of me and my sister - this is Christmas 2006.

We're both now a lot thinner - I'll find a more recent pic and post it in a mo!

My mum was looking through some old photos the other day and found this picture of me. This is April 2005.

Hands up if you recognise me... no... me neither!

Even my hands look really fat - mum found another photo of the same time, which shows my hands with dimples in my knuckes - don't have them anymore.

And this one is Christmas 2008 - after the first chunk of weight loss. That's my other half, David, looking very happy at a 60's themed party (in case you were wondering why I'm dressed like that!).

OMG - look at this blast from the past!

I've been looking through some old photos and found these (more to come). This is from 2004 - I'm obviously very happy and relaxed - but gosh, don't I look different! Sometimes, in my head, I still look like that. It's wearing off a bit, but every now and again...
