Knickers!

Had to go shopping today in my lunchtime - simply HAD to!
Got dressed just fine this morning, but as I got to work my knickers fell down! It's just as well I'd put trousers on today, or they would have been round my ankles with me stepping out of them. As it was, they were bunched round my thighs, and I was hoiking them up all morning. So, it was either shop or go commando!

Waisting Away!

Measured all my vital statistics last night, just to see how much I'd shrunk. Couldn't believe it!

The scores on the doors...
Calves - down from 19" to 18.5" - 1/2" loss
Bingo wings - down from 16" to 15" - 1" loss
Thighs - down from 30" to 27" - 3" loss
Bust - down from 47" to 42" - 5" loss
Hips - down from 60" to 53" - 7" loss (and easier to measure, can actually get tape measure round now!)
and top of the pops...
Waist - down from 46" to 36.5" - 9.5" loss!

I'm 5'4", so you can imagine how "chunky" I was - but clearly getting smaller all the time!

Isn't funny, dear reader, that I will share these intimate details with you, my size, my weight, my feelings - but ask my age and I'll poke your eye out!

My new best friends

I have lots of new best friends.

If you are one of my old best friends reading this, please don't be alarmed, you are still one of my best friends. Some of my new friends aren't even real.

The ones that are real I've got to know via the Alizonne forum - some I've met in person, but many just through exchanges of stories, hints, tips and support. They are a friendly, sharing and caring bunch, who all give of themselves generously when they can, and take support and advice when they need it.

My other best friends are inanimate objects.

I don't think I could live without
- my Tbsp and 1/2 Tbsp measures, for dishing out the olive oil.
- Or my weighing scales for my 200g of special veg.
- Or my aerolatte for mixing my drinks.
- Or my silicone muffin cases for making my treats.
- Or my silicone spatula for mixing sticky things.
- Or my white body stocking (or tic tac outfit) for having my hoovering in.

These friends are also serving me well.

Lumps and Bumps

Had a bit of a panic last night. I was lay in bed (as you do) feeling my ribs (as you do) and found a lump. It was just where the two sides of my ribs joined together in the middle, but it was quite large and it wasn't there before.
I panicked a little bit, and mentioned it to a very understanding (but trying to sleep) husband. Turns out, it was my breastbone! I didn't even know I had one - never felt it before. Not that I can remember anyway!

So, turns out I am normal after all!

weight

03/08/11 = 14 stone 13 lbs
almost 3 lb gone this week - not as much as I'd hoped with all that excercise, but I've been feeling a bit bloated and stomach achy AND I've got 2 big spots - suspect it's just that time!

Embarrassing Bodies

Just been watching C4's Embarrassing Fat Bodies - Back to the clinic. If you haven't seen EB before, basically members of the public go on TV to talk to doctors, on screen, about their most embarrassing issues. I think they are hugely brave, and think it is helpful to others who might be too scared to air their issues.

The "Fat bodies" special obviously focusses on those who are morbidly obese, and generally the recommendations are diet and excercise, bariatic surgery and skin reduction surgery - generally in that order.

I think it's a real shame that they never cover alternatives such as the Alizonne plan, which can help with the weight loss and the skin reduction - not that it will completely eliminate excess skin in those with a lot of weight to lose, but it certainly reduces the need.

If you want to see the dramatic effects of being overweight, or of losing 20 stones and what happens to your body without other help, then this is definitely worth a watch.

It also stops me feeling hungry, and makes me very happy about the path I've chosen.

Euphemisms

Isn't funny how people don't want to say "gosh you've lost weight" for fear of upsetting you?

The things people most often say to me at the moment are:
- oh, you look well!
- your hair looks nice
- have you been doing lots of swim training?

All of these things are welcome, but I know that they really all mean - didn't you used to be fatter?

What I love best though, is the look of surprise on people's faces when they haven't seen me for a while - you can't wrap that up in a euphemism!
